He received the M.S. degree (cum laude) in electronic engineering from the University of Salerno, Salerno, Italy, in 1993 and the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the Università degli Studi di Napoli “Federico II,” Napoli, Italy, in 1997. Since 2010, he has been Full Professor of electrical and electronic measurements with the Dipartimento di Informatica e Sistemistica, Università degli Studi di Napoli Federico II. He is also a member of the board of the Ph.D. Program on Computer Science and Control Systems of the Università degli Studi di Napoli “Federico II.&rdquo He is Technical Officer in the framework of the call “Made in Italy” of the national program “Industria 2015”, funded by Italian Ministry of Economic Development. He is member of the Italian Association “GMEE-Electrical and Electronic Measurements Group”, of the Directive Board of Me.S.E., National Inter-university Research Consortium on Metrics and Measurement Technology on Electrical Systems, of CNIT, National Inter-university Consortium for Telecommunications, of the Technical Committee CT 85/66 “Measurement, Control and Laboratory Instrumentation”, of the Technical Committee SC 210A “Radio interference: measurement techniques and limits” and of the Technical Committee CT 1/25 “Terminology, quantities and units” of CEI (Italian Electrotechnical Committee). He is member, as an expert, of the Technical Board of the Italian project concerning the measurement of Internet fixed access performance, and of the Technical Board of the Italian project concerning the measurement of the quality perceived by the final user of mobile personal communications offered through terrestrial wireless networks, both promoted by Italian AGCOM (Communications Regulatory Authority). He is Senior Member of the "Instrumentation and Measurement Society" and "Communications Society" of IEEE. He is vice-president of the Italy Chapter of the IEEE “Instrumentation and Measurement Society” and the General Chairman of the IEEE International Workshop on “Measurements & Networking” – M&N 2013. He is the author or coauthor of more than 250 scientific articles, one-third of which were published in relevant international journals. In 2009, he was awarded the IET Communications Premium for the paper titled “Performance measurement of IEEE 802.11b-based networks affected by narrowband interference through cross-layer measurements” (published in IET Communications, vol.2, No.1, January 2008).
