Dr. Leping Li received his Ph.D. from the University of North Carolina in 1994. He is a Principal Investigator in the Biostatistics Branch at the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences, NIH. Dr. Li serves as an Editorial Board member for the Journal of The Indian Society of Agricultural Statistics. Dr. Li has authored or coauthored nearly 60 articles in peer-reviewed journals such as Bioinformatics, BMC Bioinformatics, J. of Comput. Biol., Nat. Struct. Biol., Genes Dev. and Genome Res.
Dr. Leping Li′s research focuses on statistical methods and applications for identifying transcription factor binding sites in DNA sequences and methods for analyzing large-scale ChIP-seq data from the next-generation sequencers. He has developed several software packages implementing his methods, including GADEM and fdrMotif. Dr. Leping Li′s research interests also include pattern recognition, data mining and classification.
