Biography

Dr. Lin Zhang is currently an Associate Professor of the Department of Neurology in US Davis Medical Center, University of California. He is also a Director of Movement Disorders Program and Director of Neurotoxin (Botox) Therapeutics Program. Dr. Zhang completed his M.D. from Beijing University School of Medicine in 1984. Further, he completed his Ph.D. from Tulane University, New Orleans, Louisiana in 1994. He has been also associated as an Editorial Board Member & Reviewer for many Journals. He also is investigating the clinical manifestation of the disease in patients with atypical Parkinsons disease, and those with a family history of pre-mutation for fragile X syndrome, a genetic disorder that typically affects children.

Research Interest

Dr. Zhang specializes in Parkinson's disease (PD), tremor, Dystonia, ataxia, and other movement Disorders under the specialty of Neurology. He is actively involved in clinical studies investigating new treatment stretegies for PD, and studies of risk factors for PD in epidemiology, and project on newly defined Fragile X Associated Tremor Ataxia Syndrome. He also extends his clinical interests and expertise into the area of Deep brain stimulation treating PD, tremor, dystonia and of dystonia management utilizing electromyography to guide the injection of botulinum toxins.
