Biography

Majid poshtan is currently an associate professor of electrical engineering in american university at Dubai in UAE.He has graduated in 1988 from Tehran University in Iran, obtaining his BSc Degree with Honors, and completed MSc in university of new brunswick in Canada from 1990 – 1992.In the year 2000,he has obtained his PhD in tulane university in new orleans in USA.From 2011 – 2013,He worked as an Assistant Professor of Electrical Engineering in the Petroleum Institute at Abu Dhabiin UAE.

From 2001 – 2003,he worked as a post-doctoral fellow in power systems of EECS Department at Tulane University in USA.From 1998 – 2002,he worked as a part-time research engineer of electric power trans. systems, Entergy Corp in USA.

From 1992 – 1996,he worked as a part-time research engineer, Critical Control Corp. in CANADA.

Research Interest

Dr. Majid Poshtan is an Associate Professor at American University in Dubai (AUD). His responsibilities are to teach Electric Power and Electric Machine courses, and perform academic research in his field. He has co-authored more than 56 peer-reviewed research publications

His research interest area is power systems protection and analysis, fault detection for electric machines and cables, condition monitoring of power system and electric machine.
