Biography

Malek is a doctoral researcher in Accounting and Finance at Durham Business School and currently working on two research projects. Prior to this, he was an academic faculty member at the Department of Accounting in Yarmouk University (2005-08), where he taught, and was module leader for, several modules in financial accounting such as Principles of Accounting, Intermediate Accounting, Analysis of Financial Statements and Management Accounting. He attended the European Business Program at university of Provence - Aix-Marseille (2002) and completed a bachelor′s degree (2003) master degree in accounting at Yarmouk University (2005). He holds Associateship with the Higher Education Academy (AHEA).

Research Interest

Creative accounting, corporate reporting, accruals and earnings management, M&A and market based financial accounting research in general.
