Dr Alikhani is Assistant Professor of Orthodontics at New York University College of Dentistry He received a DDS degree from Tehran University in Iran DMD degree from Tufts University Certificate of Orthodontics from New York University MS from State University of New York at Stony Brook PhD in Molecular Biology from Boston University and Postdoctoral fellowship in Molecular Biology at Boston University In the past years he has served as the director of research for Orthodontic department while maintaining a bone research laboratory supported by NIDCR Dr Alikhani is founding member of CTOR Consortium for Translational Orthodontic Research which brings together clinicians and scientists working in craniofacial research Dr Alikhani Research is focused on the transcription factors regulating mesenchymal cells differentiation to osteoblasts/chondroblasts His Laboratory also studies the role of inflammation on accelerated tooth movement and Osteogenic effect of high frequency low magnitude forces on alveolar bone
