Dr. Manisha Singal is Assistant Professor of Strategy in the department of Hospitality and Tourism Management in the Pamplin College of Business at Virginia Tech University. She holds a Ph.D. in Strategic Management from Virginia Tech, and teaches business strategy at the graduate and undergraduate levels. Dr. Singal’s research investigates how firm financial and social performance is affected by governance issues of family ownership and external factors of macro-economic conditions, within the context of service related firms. She has published papers in management journals like Strategic Entrepreneurship Journal, Journal of International Management, and International Journal of Hospitality Management. Several of her papers have been selected or nominated for best paper awards at Academy of Management meetings, Family Enterprise Research Conference, and Strategic Management Society conference. Dr. Singal serves on the editorial boards of three journals, Family Business Review, Entrepreneurship and Ethics, and Journal of Business and Hotel Management.
