Dr. Marina N. Nosik at present time is the Head of the Laboratory Biology of Lentiviruses, I.I. Mechnikov Research Institute of Vaccines and Sera, Moscow, Russia. She is doing research in AIDS since 1985. She worked during the outbreaks of HIV-infection in different regions of former Soviet Union. She had formed the State collection of HIV-isolates circulating in the territory of the former USSR. In 1992, Dr. M. Nosik received her PhD in Virology, at the M.P. Chumakov Institute of Poliomyelitis and Viral Encephalitis, Russian Academy of Medical Sciences (RAMS). In 1996 -1998 she was the Head of WHO Collaborating Centre on Smallpox in Moscow, O.G. Andzaparidze Research Institute for Viral Preparations, RAMS. She has coordinated and led several national and international projects. Dr. M. Nosik has two Government Awards for the work in the field of biology and health protection. She is a member of the Scientific Board of the I.I. Mechnikov Research Institute of Vaccines & Sera and a member of the National scientific society of infectious diseases (NSID); of the International society for infectious diseases (ISID); of the International AIDS Society (IAS); of the European AIDS Clinical Society (EACS); of the European Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (ESCMID). Dr. M. Nosik has 7 issued patents and over 100 deposits of HIV-strains in the State Collections of Viruses. She is the author of 67 publications in the peer-reviewed journals and 1 monograph.
