Biography

Michael Danquah, M.S., Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor of Pharmaceutical Sciences at Chicago State University College ofPharmacy (CSU-COP). He obtained his Master’s Degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Kentucky, and aPh.D. in Pharmaceutics and Drug Delivery from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center. He has several peer-reviewed journal articlesand is the author of the book “Emerging Trends in Cell and Gene Therapy”.

Research Interest

• Design and synthesis of novel biodegradable polymers for controlled drug and nucleic acid delivery

• Nano based combination therapy for treating cancer

• Design and construction of novel bipartite shRNA expressing plasmids for cancer therapy

• Formulation, delivery, in vitro and in vivo characterization of siRNA,shRNAand miRNAsfor treating cancer

• Application of stem cells and biomaterials for tissue regeneration and repair
