Biography

Michael Mutingi is an Assistant Professor in Industrial Engineering in the Faculty of Engineering and Technology at the University of Botswana (Botswana). He has professional experience as a Research Associate at the National University of Singapore (Singapore), and as a Lecturer in Industrial Engineering at the National University of Science & Technology (Zimbabwe). He is completing his PhD in Engineering Management at the University of Johannesburg (South Africa), majoring in healthcare operations management. Michael Mutingi obtained his MEng and BEng in Industrial Engineering from the National University of Science & Technology (Zimbabwe). He researches in biologically-inspired metaheuristic optimization, soft computing, scheduling, manufacturing systems modelling, operations research applications, healthcare operations management and supply chain management. Michael Mutingi is a member of the Southern African Institution of Industrial Engineers and the System Dynamics Society. He has published more than 70 articles in reputable international journals, conference proceedings, and books. He has received awards from IEEE Industrial Engineering & Engineering Management (2012, 2013), IEOM Industrial Engineering & Operations Management, Turkey (2012, 2014), and Planetary Scientific Research Centre International Conference (2013).
