I have been responsible for over 30 research studies on architectural healthcare environments coordinating and directing research projects e.g. EPSRC-funded LEAF (Learning from Experience-Applying systematic Feedback to improve the briefing process in construction) published in Lawson et al 2003, the Poole and Brighton Hospitals studies, the Leeds Nuffield Hospital Evaluation-One patient, one room theory and practice, Macmillan Cancer Support building evaluations 2005-9, Adams Ward Oxford Radcliffe Infirmary Study and others. I have received over 16 research grants from, HaCIRIC (Health and Care Infrastructure Research and Innovation Centre – EPSRC-Funded collaboration of Imperial College, Loughborough, Reading & Salford Universities), Department of Health, NHS Estates, Healthcare Scotland, Guy’s & St Thomas NHS Trust, South Tees NHS Trust, Macmillan Cancer Support, Rotunda and Sligo General Hospitals, Ireland, Clinicenta and others. I am a chartered architect with over 17 years’ post-qualification experience in private and public practice.
