Biography

Milun J Babic, member of Serbian Academy of Engineering Science since 2007, was born in Serbia. Degree Master of Science achieved at Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Belgrade in 1974, and in 1981 successfully attained PhD at the same Faculty. Since 1974 he is employed permanently at Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Kragujevac, first as an Institute researcher, then as assistant, assistant professor, associate professor and since 1990 as a full professor. During academic career he worked as a lecturer at several Universities and Faculties in the country and abroad. At Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Kragujevac, he performed duties of vice president of The Board, president of Department for Traffic Engineering and Transport, vice dean for finances, dean Faculty and director of Regional Energy Efficiency Centre. He is one of the founders of Department of Energetic and Process Technique, and Department of Energy and Environment Management. He is Chief of Department of Energetic and Process Technique for many years. Milun Babi? is also author/co-author of 603 scientific, research and scholar papers that are published in national and international scientific journal and conferences, 8 patents, 81 technical solutions new industrial products and plants (which have patent character and now are integral part of national companies’ production). He managed 97 scientific and R&D projects of regional, national and international importance. He published 8 memoirs, 3 university textbooks and mentored 9 PhD theses, 21 MS theses, 3 specialists and large number of graduate exams. He was the member of large number of comities for PhD and master thesis at Faculties of Mechanical Engineering in Kragujevac, Pristina, Nis, Belgrade and Novi Sad. During his carrier Milun Babi? also preformed several state and social important duties such as: president-director of Foundation "Nikola Tesla"; president of the Scientific Committee for Energy and Energy Efficiency within the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development of the Republic of Serbia; member of Scientific Board for Energy Efficiency of Ministry of Science; coordinator and manager of Program of Development Strategy for Implementation of New and Renewable Energy Resources in Republic Serbia for the period 2006-2010 (Program MoME for Development Serbian’s RES’s Strategy); director of Program for Energy Efficiency in Municipal Systems of Ministry of Science and Environmental Protection; local expert in international team for establishing of Energy Efficiency Agency of the Republic of Serbia and for preparing Energetic Development Strategy of Republic of Serbia, etc. He has won many awards for accomplished of scientific, technical and technological results. Milun Babic was the representative in Federal Parliament SR Yugoslavia (1996-1999) and he had been Minister in Government of Republic of Serbia for Coordination of Industry Development from 1994 to 1998.
