Moorthy P Ponnusamy is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular biology in University of Nebraska Medical Centre Omaha NE. He received his PhD in Biochemistry from the University of Madras, India (2001-2005). He completed his BSc and MSc in Biochemistry from Bharathydasan University, India (1996-2001). He received best performance award from University of Nebraska Medical Centre three times. He received postdoctoral fellowship from Susan G Komen foundation and because of its novelty this project was selected for additional founds 2008 from Nebraska affiliate Susan G Komen foundation. He is serving as a cancer stem cell book reviewer of Springer science press NY, USA. He published fourteen manuscripts and two book chapters.
His research focuses on Embryonic stem cells, Induced pluripotent stem cells (iPS), Regenerative medicine, Cancer stem cells, Diagnostic and prognostic marker identification in both Ovarian and Pancreatic Cancer and Therapeutic target for Breast Cancer.
