Mufti Mahmud

Dr. Mufti Mahmud was born in a small north-western town of Bangladesh. Dr. Mahmud completed his Bachelor and Masters degrees in Computer Science from University of Madras and University of Mysore on 2001 and 2003, respectively under the Cultural Exchange Programme (CEP) scholarship from the Government of India. He completed yet another Second Level Masters in Nano and Micro Electromechanical Systems (Bio-NEMS/MEMS) from University of Trento, Italy in 2007 followed by a PhD in Bioengineering from University of Padova, Italy in 2010. At present he is serving as an Assistant Professor at the Jahangirnagar University, Bangladesh, and also as a Postdoctoral fellow at the NeuroChip Lab of University of Padova, Italy. In his diversified career, Dr. Mahmud worked in the Indian software industry as a software engineer, at university as a lecturer of computer science & engineering, also as a staff scientist at a Biotech company. His fields of research are high resolution brain-chip interface, neuronal signal processing, brain-machine interfacing including robotics, intelligent system development for neuroscience applications.
