Dr. Mubarak is associate professor of Histopathology at Sindh Institute of Urology and Transplantation (SIUT), Karachi, Pakistan. He graduated in Medicine from Pakistan, did his diploma in clinical pathology (DCP) from University of London and post graduation in Anatomic Pathology from CPSP, Pakistan. He also spent three months at AMC, Amsterdam for learning renal and transplant pathology. He is actively involved in reporting both native and renal allograft biopsies.
He has authored more than 50 papers in peer-reviewed journals, many relating to native renal biopsy pathology in Pakistan. He is a member of many professional organizations and a reviewer of many national and international medical journals. He is a member of editorial board of SIUT news, CRO journal and World J Nephrology.
His research areas include identifying the risk factors causing chronic damage in the kidney grafts, and further development of Banff classification of renal allograft pathology.
