Biography

Prof. Mutlu Ozcan earned her Ph. D in 2003 from University of Groningen and working as Professor and Head of Dental Materials Unit at University of Zurich, Switzerland and holds a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Marmara in Istanbul (1993). During her study years she has achieved her elective studies at the Department of Maxillofacial Surgery at Cardiff Dental Hospital in United Kingdom. After receiving her degree she has returned to Istanbul, has been promoted to be an Assistant Professor (2000) and subsequently Associate Professor (2002) at the University of Marmara. She has authored more than 250 scientific and clinical articles in peer-reviewed journals (h index=26), has given over 400 presentations at international scientific meetings, is a frequent lecturer at scientific meetings, receiver of several international awards and has held numerous continuing education courses in Europe. She serves also for the editorial boards of several scientific journals. Her clinical expertise is on reconstructive dentistry.She has also Visiting Professor positions at various universities including São Paolo State University (Brazil), Federal University of Juiz de Fora (Brazil), University of Brno (Czech Republic), University of Madrid (Spain) and University of Florida (USA).

Research Interest

Clinically prosthetic applications, Minimal invasive adhesive applications, Investigating longevity of dental restorations and pre-clinically translational research on dental biomaterials with an emphasis on dental ceramics, Polymers, simulation testing methods, Aging phenomena and Surface conditioning methods.
