Biography

Dr Olaf van Vliet holds a position as Assistant Professor at the Department of Economics at Leiden University (the Netherlands). He studied public administration at Leiden University and economics at Erasmus University Rotterdam. Olaf van Vliet received his PhD from Leiden University, specializing in the political economy of European integration and labour market policy reform. From September to December 2010, Van Vliet worked as a visiting researcher at Marquette University (U.S.). Van Vliet teaches several courses on economic policy, European integration and European social policy. His research interests include political economy, public finance, European integration, globalization and public policy. Van Vliet’s research has been published in several Dutch and international journals.
