Biography

Pablo Cortés is Professor in Industrial Engineering, PhD in Industrial Engineering from the University of Seville, Special Doctoral Award in Industrial Engineering. He is author and referee of academic articles in very diverse JCR journals such as: Applied Soft Computing, Computers & Operations Research, Interfaces, International Journal of Intelligent Automation and Soft Computing, Journal of the Operational Research Society, International Journal of Production Research, Simulation, Simulation Modelling Practice and Theory, Information Sciences y European Journal of Operational Research, among others. He is editorial board member of Intelligent Control and Automation, the International Journal of Computational Complexity and Intelligent Algorithms, and Recent Patents on Computer Science. He has also been appointed as Guest Editor for special issues of the International Journal of Intelligent Automation and Soft Computing and for the Journal of Computational Science. He has been Project Leader in 5 projects of the Spanish Research and Development Programme, as well as project leader in numerous technology transfer projects funded by Spanish and European programmes. He is Leader Project in 18 RTD contracts with private companies and inventor of 3 international patents. He is evaluator for the Spanish Agency for Research and the European 7th Framework Programme. Currently, he is the General Manager of the Office for research and technology transfer of the University of Seville.

Research interests focus on the fields: Soft Computing, Computational Intelligence, Operations Research, transport and logistics, Telecommunication Networks, and vertical transportation.
