Patrick Welch is a Professor of Economics at St. Louis University. He was editor of the Association for Social Economics’ Forum for Social Economics from 1995 into 2005 and on the editorial board of the association’s Review of Social Economy from 1995 into 2011. His primary research interests are in the areas of history of economic thought and social economics. He has approximately fifty publications that include books, chapters in books and journal articles. Currently, the textbook, Economics: Theory and Practice, coauthored with his wife, is in revision for its eleventh edition. In addition to his service to the Department of Economics he has had secondary appointments in the University’s Department of Public Policy Studies and School of Public Health. He has also team taught courses in economic regulation and antitrust in the University’s School of Law.
