Dr Banerjee trained in cardiology in the Yorkshire Deanery and was appointed as a consultant cardiologist at the University Hospitals Coventry & Warwickshire in November 2004. He is an interventional cardiologist but his main role is to lead the heart failure service in his trust and in the Coventry & Warwickshire Cardiovascular Network. His other clinical interests include echocardiography and he currently also heads the non invasive department in his hospital. Dr Banerjee is an honorary Associate Professor at the University of Warwick. His research interests include diastolic heart failure and exercise training in heart failure using a novel method of electrical muscle stimulation of the legs. Outside of work he enjoys cricket, Shakespeare and poetry.
