Dr. Qian received her M.D. from Shanghai Second Medical University and completed her Internal Medicine and Nephrology training at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in June 1999. She was recruited to Mayo Clinic in July 1999. Dr. Qian is an Associate Professor of Medicine and Physiology at Mayo Clinic School of Medicine, a faculty nephrologist at Department of Medicine, Division of Nephrology and hypertension Mayo Clinic Rochester, and a faculty member of Mayo Graduate School. She heads the Mayo Clinic Acid-base Electrolyte Interest Group and Acid-base Electrolyte Subspecialty Clinic. Dr. Qian is a Top Educator named by medical trainees at Mayo Clinic. Her clinical and research interests are in renal physiology, hereditary renal diseases including polycystic kidney diseases and renal tubular disorders. She serves as an editorial member for a number of journals and has authored over 35 full-length research and clinical papers and multiple book chapters.
