Biography

Prof. Rajiv Gupta was born and brought up at Lucknow and is an alumnus of prestigious Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Dr. Hari Singh Gour University (formerly Sagar University), Sagar, (M.P), India. He has a rich industrial experience of six years and is serving academics for last fourteen years. He is presently serving as Professor and Dean, School of Pharmacy, BBD University, Lucknow, India, holding additional post of Head, Department of Pharmacognosy. His area of Interest is medicinal plants particularly Standardization and HPTLC studies along with Phytopharmacology and herbal cosmetics/formulation. He is Member of Central Administration, Academic Council, Examination Committee, Internal Quality Assurance Cell (I.Q.A.C.) and Convener of R.D.C. (Pharmaceutical Sciences) & Doctorate Program Admission Test (D.P.A.T.) panel of Babu Banarasi Das University, Lucknow. At post graduate level i.e. M. Pharm., he has supervised forty Dissertation work, and six as Co-Supervisor (also two M.D.S.). He is Co- Investigator of AICTE - MODROBS project “Standardization of selected Indian Medicinal Plants” (2009-12). His supervision of a M. Pharm. Thesis was awarded as ‘Best Research Supervisor’ in ‘R.V. Patel best M. Pharm. Thesis’ competition at National level (2011-12). He has co-authored five books and also contributed to a book chapter published by Springer. He is reviewer/editorial board member of several national & international research journals. He has 85 National / International Publications/ presentations to his credit and has attended many conferences, seminar & workshop etc. He is Life member of pharmaceutical based professional organizations like A.P.T.I. & I.S.P. etc.
