Biography

Rao L. Divi is a Program Director in the Methods and Technologies Branch of Epidemiology and Genomics Research Program in Division of Cancer Control and Population Sciences (DCCPS) at National Cancer Institute (NCI), NIH. He received his doctorate in Biochemistry from Osmania University, India in 1993 and was a postdoctoral fellow at National Center for Toxicological Research from 1993-1996. He studied “Antithyroid Mechanisms of Natural Compounds and Drugs.” In 1997, Dr. Divi joined the Carcinogen-DNA Interactions section, Laboratory of Cancer Biology and Genetics, NCI where his research interests continued in “Mitochnodrial Toxicity of Antiretroviral Drugs” and “Molecular Mechanisms of Carcinogenesis.” Dr. Divi is author/co-author on more than 50 publications including peer-reviewed articles and/or book chapters, etc., and is currently a member on the NCI Special Studies Institutional Review Board, committee member (ad hoc) of FASEB’s Breakthroughs in Bioscience, International Lymphoma Epidemiology Consortium, and International Multiple Myeloma Consortium. He is the DCCPS’ representative for NCI’s Innovative Molecular Analysis Technologies Development Program. His goal is to empower future generation.
