Biography

Richa Bhatia, MD, a board certified child, adolescent, and adult psychiatrist, is the medical director of the Child and Adolescent OCD Institute at McLean Hospital which provides evidence-based care—primarily exposure and response prevention therapy and medication management—to patients suffering from severe obsessive compulsive and anxiety disorders. She has expertise in various child and adolescent psychiatric disorders, and in various treatment modalities such as medical management and evaluation, psychodynamic psychotherapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and mindfulness-based psychotherapies. Her other interests are compassion cultivation training, childhood mental health advocacy, and bullying prevention.Dr. Bhatia has held various leadership roles, and is a member of the editorial board of the Journal of Culture, Medicine and Psychiatry. She enjoys teaching and mentoring medical students, residents, and fellows. For her contributions to the field of psychiatry, Dr. Bhatia has received the honor of Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association
