Biography

I have been a practicing APN for the past 15 years. I have 10 years practice as an APN in the Emergency Department. I have precepted and oriented all APN, PA and medical students during my years in the ED and continue to do so in my present practice. I also have been a founding member of the New York University APN faculty practice providing primary care in an APN run faculty practice. I have present extensively on clinical and practice matters as they relate to the APN while teaching at New York University and in my present position at Monmouth University and have several publications as they relate to APN practice, pharmacology and acute care. I have 24 years of higher education teaching. At Monmouth University, I regularly review scholarly papers and am a Capstone advisor to several DNP students. I teach Advanced Pharmacology and all APN clinical courses. I am presently the Director of the Master’s Program and APN Program Director and served for two years from 2012-2014 as the first chair of the nursing department. I have developed an APN skills boot camp on suturing, x-ray interpretation, care of acute orthopedic injuries and clinical decision making.I have been a member of the New Jersey State Nurses Association Forum of Nurses in Advanced Practice organization and currently serve as President of the organization where I serve as resource for all APNs in New Jersey on practice and legislative issues.
