Samineh Jafari is an assistant professor of pharmacognosy at the Zanjan University of Medical Sciences, Zanjan, IRAN. She completed doctorate degree in pharmacy and then Ph.D degree in pharmacognosy at Tehran University of Medical Sciences. She is currently teaching pharmacy students and Ph.D. students of traditional Iranian medicine courses in medicinal plants and pharmacognosy. Her major research field is phytochemical investigation of medicinal plants as well as studying their biological and pharmacological activities. She often focus on the plants that are used in traditional Iranian medicine. Also, interested in quality control of medicinal plants, investigation of medicinal plants for potential toxicities and plant cell and tissue culture studies. Moreover, she collaborated with a research team that designs new drug delivery systems to improve bioavalibility and decrease side effects of active natural compounds. She is editorial board member in Research Journal of Pharmacognosy and reviewer of several pharmacognosy related of international journals.
