Sandeep Kumar Singh, PhD
President Founder
Indian Science Education and Technology Foundation,  Lucknow, India
Sandeep Kumar Singh is a Neurobiologist with a strong background in Biochemistry and Biomedicine. I have dedicated more than 6 years to Neuroscience Research and used animal models system to investigate the therapeutic potential for Alzheimer’s disease using synthetic as well as natural compounds in drosophila model system. After obtaining my M.Sc. degree, I completed my PhD form Department of Biochemistry, Institute of Science, Banaras Hindu University then moved to the Department of Neurobiology, The University of Chicago, IL, USA. Currently I am Founder President of a non-profit organization; Indian Science Education and Technology Foundation and working in the field of Neurobiology and Biotechnology Research Promotion. I have been actively working in the field of Neurobiology; specially on Alzheimer’s disease for almost 6 years. My doctoral research topic was “Studies on therapeutic potential of synthetic as well as herbal compounds for Alzheimer’s disease using transgenic Drosophila model”. During my doctoral training, I learnt to design my experiments as well as got the skill for manuscript preparation and writing. I gained experience in a number of techniques including DNA isolation, RNA isolation, Agarose gel electrophoresis, PCR, RT-PCR, Western Blotting, Confocal and Fluorescence Microscopy, Immunohistochemistry, I am also well versed in others techniques like single cell gel electrophoresis (comet assay), flow cytometry, Hybrid Capture Assay, COBAS AMLICOR, BACTEC- 460 TB SYSTEM, ZN Staining, Fast Plaque Assay, ELISA, etc. The last 6 years research work come up with a couple of nice publications to my credit in journals of international repute like (International Journal of Alzheimer’s Disease, Neurotoxicity Research, Oxidative Medicine and Cellular Longevity, BBRC, Neurochemical Research, Neuroscience Letter, Current Drug Metabolism etc.) and 2 book chapter as mentioned in my CV. Because my PhD work was totally focused on to find out suitable therapeutic target for Alzheimer’s disease using synthetic as well as natural compounds in drosophila model system well as my potential to translate these preclinical studies into the drug trials. I am very much familiar with various biochemical and molecular biology techniques, microscopy, data analysis and have working experience with Drosophila model. I think I can successfully accomplish this research proposal to find out suitable therapeutic approaches for the treatment of the Alzheimer’s disease.
