Dr Sang-Bing Ong is an Assistant Professor in Cardiovascular Medicine at Duke-NUS Medical School, Singapore. Having graduated from the Hatter Cardiovascular Institute in University College London (UCL), UK with a PhD in Medicine, he then moved to the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) in the States for postdoctoral research His research interests and focus spans the fields of cardiac mitochondrial dynamics, cardiac autophagy and cardiac regeneration, with the ultimate aim of achieving cardioprotection. Dr Ong’s research group in Singapore is funded by the Singapore Ministry of Health National Medical Research Council and the Estate of Tan Sri Khoo Teck Puat, Singapore.
