Biography

I am currently working as a Senior Scientist in Synthonics Inc., a specialty pharmaceutical company focused on the discovery, development of drugs that incorporate proprietary metal coordination chemistry. I received my PhD from JNTU, Hyderabad, India and Post-Doc in University of Colorado, Denver, USA. My research focus includes dendrimer mediated drug delivery systems and development of novel formulations for sustained delivery of both small and large molecules. In current job, I am using metal coordination that entails attaching a pharmaceutically acceptable metal, such as zinc, bismuth or magnesium, to a known pharmaceutical agent to create a new and more effective drug by increasing solubility and absorption without altering the action of the underlying drug. I am actively involving in supervising the departmental activities for pre formulation, formulation development for pre-clinical and clinical studies including analytical and regulatory. Before joining in Synthonics, I worked in various pharmaceutical companies in India at supervising levels. I am responsible for product development activities for NCEs and generic drugs targeting regulated markets. I have authored scientific publications in reputed international journals and inventor in few patent applications. I had given oral presentations at international level conferences. I am also serving as scientific reviewer for high impact journals such as Pharmaceutical research, Molecular Pharmaceutics, Journal of Drug Targeting and Journal of Ophthalmic Pharmacology and Therapeutics.
