Satoshi Okuma

Satoshi Okuma received his bachelor’s and doctorate degrees in physics from the University of Tokyo, Japan, in 1982 and 1987, respectively. Then, he joined the faculty of Tokyo Institute of Technology, where he worked as Research Associate at Department of Physics and later as Associate Professor at Research Center for Low Temperature System, and currently works at Department of Physics and Research Center for Low Temperature Physics. His main research areas are low temperature physics, especially superconductivity. He is interested in the quantum phase transition, such as the superconductor-insulator transition and quantum melting, and vortex matter in type-II superconductors with a recent emphasis on novel dynamic transitions and non-equilibrium phenomena in driven vortices.
