Schirbel Anja

Biography

Since 2003 Anja Schirbel (MD) is working as physician and clinical researcher at the University Hospital Charité Berlin, Germany with specialization in gastroenterology. She obtained her MD degree in 2006. Her field of interest are inflammatory bowel diseases at clinical and basic science level. She participated in several clinical studies. Furthermore, she investigated clinical issues such as pain in IBD and quality of life or reasons for delayed diagnosis in IBD. From 2008 -2010 Dr. Schirbel worked as post-doctoral fellow at the Learner Research Institute at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, Cleveland, Ohio, USA. Her focus is TLR and NLR mediated intestinal angiogenesis, intestinal inflammation and the effect of probiotics on intestinal inflammation and angiogenesis. Since 2013 she is working as clinical scientist.
