My long-term research goal is to understand the role of virulence factors of oral pathogens and its interaction with host system primarily in the fields of oral microbiology and bacterial pathogenesis. My expertise earned from PhD from Madurai Kamaraj University and Postdoctoral trainings from Imperial College London UK and National Institute for Application Sciences France made seamless and successful transitions to oral biology field when I joined in.ÃÂ Over the period at Rutgers School of Dental Medicine, Newark, NJ USA (Formerly University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey) my research focuses are Oral Microbiome, Defensins, Molecular aspects of oral health and microbiology, Biofilm and Animal models to study host/microbe interaction during pathogenesis.
