Dr. Sergio Emanuel Kaiser, is graduated in December 1977, at the medical school of Rio de Janeiro Federal University. In subsequent years he took residence and specialization in Cardiology and won his Master degree. While starting his private practice, he was admitted as a Cardiologist in two state hospitals and, in one of them, he also held a position of assistant professor of Cardiology at a post-graduation course conducted by the Rio de Janeiro Catholic University. In 1998, he was admitted by public tender as assistant professor of Internal Medicine at the Rio de Janeiro State University. One year later he was invited by AMIL, a large Brazilian HMO, to lead a new disease management unit called “Total Care”. There, he also implemented the process of accreditation by the Joint Commission, in 2005. In 2007, he quit AMIL and underwent a doctorate program at his University. His PhD degree, obtained in 2012, allowed him to upgrade to the position of associate professor. Presently he run the discipline of Clinical and Experimental Pathophysiology.
