Dr. Jang joined the faculty in the School of Materials Science and Engineering at Georgia Tech in July, 2007 as an assistant professor. He received his B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in School of Materials Science and Engineering at Seoul National University, Korea. After working at Samsung Electronics for two years, Dr. Jang joined the Materials and Process Simulation Center (MSC) at CalTech and performed various forms of research in nanoelectronics, fuel cell, and interfacial systems as a director of Supramolecular Technology for six years.
Nanoelectronics: molecular electronics, quantum confinement, Nanomechanics: CNT and CNT-polymer nanocomposite, Nanopattern: effect of molecular architectures on copolymer nanophase segregation, Energy Technology (fuel cell and battery): electrolyte and electrode materials, ionic conduction, Biomaterials: hydrogel (mechanical and transport properties) and lipid molecular self-assembly, DNA and protein nanotechnology.
