Biography

Dr. Hussein holds a PhD in Chemical Engineering. Currently, he is an Associate Professor in the School of Chemical Engineering, University Sains Malaysia. Dr. Hussein has strong experience in the synthesis, surface modification and characterisation of carbon nanotubes. He is a principal investigator of many research projects. He has managed to publish over 110 scientific articles, two book chapters, two patents and given talks in invited seminars. Dr. Hussein has received more than 50 national and international awards. In 2005, Dr. Hussein was awarded a Gold Medal for the project “Production of Carbon Nanotubes and Hydrogen” at the 33rd International Exhibition of Inventions, New Techniques and Products held in Geneva, Switzerland.

Bone replacement materials especially calcium phosphate cements with nanomaterials.
