Dr. Subbiah Alwarappan received his Undergraduate degree in Chemistry from Alagappa Government Arts College, Karaikudi, India and Masters in Chemistry from Presidency College, Chennai, Tamilnadu, India. In the year 2003, Dr. Alwarappan was awarded the prestigious IPRS Fellowship by the Australian Government to carry out his PhD studies at Macquarie University, Sydney, Australia. In 2006, Dr. Alwarappan moved to University of Iowa (Iowa City, IA, USA) for his Postdoctoral Research for one year. Later, Dr. Alwarappan moved to Florida International University (Miami, FL, USA) for his Postdoctoral Research for two years. Following this, Dr. Alwarappan worked as a Senior Postdoctoral Fellow at Nanomaterials Research and Education Center at University of South Florida (Tampa, FL, USA) for two years. Since Jan 2011 he holds a joint Senior Researcher position at Nanomedicine Research Center and Nanomaterials Research Center a constituent centers at University of South Florida, Tampa, FL, USA.
