Biography

Takefumi Komiya is currently a medical oncologist and an Assistant Professor in Division of Medical Oncology, University of Kansas Medical Center, Kansas, United States. He has obtained MD in Japan in 1990 and completed post-graduate medical training in both Japan and United States. He was also trained at National Cancer Institute for cancer genetics. Since 2013 he has been involved in Early Phase Clinical Trial and Thoracic Medical Oncology teams within his institution. His interest is development of clinical trials in cancer immunotherapy and targeted therapy in lung cancer. He is an active member of American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), American Association for Cancer Research (AACR), and International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer (IASLC).
