Biography

Dr.Tarek Heikal has received his PhD in Cairo University during the period of 2005. Currently, he is working as Associate Professor of Narcotics and Poisons in Environmental Toxicology Research Unit. He has successfully completed his Administrative responsibilities as Research Assistant in Chemical Industries Research Division. He is member of Egyptian Society of Toxicology.

Research Interest

Toxicity evaluation of different environmental pollutants on experimental animals and studying their hazard effects, where, behavioral signs, biochemical parameters, growth rate, hormonal assay disruptor, amino acids concentration disturbance, histology, as well as DNA damage (Comet assay) were the criteria for the manifestation of such hazards. Recently, Interests with the interaction between drugs and toxins such as pesticides, and the role of antioxidants (natural or synthetic origin) in ameliorating the hazards of pollutants. Using medicinal plant extracts of Hypericm perforatum as antidepressant drugs.
