Dr. Umakanthan completed higher education in “Good Laboratory Practice in Veterinary Laboratories (GLPVL)” in University of Reading, London, UK and Bachelor in Veterinary Science at Madras Veterinary College. He is currently working as Deputy Director, Animal Disease Intelligence Unit at Virudhunagar, Tamil Nadu. He had published more than 50 articles. He is a member of Indian Spectroscopy Society. Specialized in immunology and xenotransplant. In 1997 provisionally selected by USA “Marquis who’s who in the world” for Biography publication. He published 115 Research articles in nationally and internationally and filed 8 patents. He is now undertaking research in Atomic chemistry and Radio chemistry.
