I was born in Athens, Greece in 1968. I received my MD degree from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece and my PhD degree from the Democritus University of Thrace, Greece. I completed my residency in Internal Medicine and my fellowship in Nephrology in Thessaloniki, Greece. I was also trained in Peritoneal Dialysis at the Toronto Western Hospital, University of Toronto, Canada under Dr D. Oreopoulos and in glomerular diseases at the Glomerular Center, Medical School, Columbia University, NY, USA under Dr G. Appel. I am currently an Assistant Professor of Nephrology at the Division of Nephrology and Hypertension, 1st Department of Internal Medicine, AHEPA Hospital, Medical School, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece. I am a member of two editorial boards of international journals and have authored or co-authored over 100 full scientific papers as well as a number of chapters in international Nephrology books.
