Vladimir J. Konecni is Emeritus Professor in the Department of Psychology, University of California, San Diego (La Jolla). He received his Ph.D. at the University of Toronto (Canada) in 1973 in Social and Experimental Psychology. Professor Konecni is a recipient of the John Simon Guggenheim Fellowship for research, and a research grantee of the Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst. Among his four major areas of research and scientific writing is Legal Psychology, especially judicial decision making and issues of eyewitness identification. In this area alone, he has had some 50 scientific publications. One of his books (coauthored with Professor E. B. Ebbesen) is “The Criminal Justice System: A Social-Psychological Analysis” (San Francisco: Freeman, 1982).
