Biography

Vyas Sharma, B.Pharm., Ph.D., is a Research Assistant Professor at the Division of Medicinal Chemistry and Natural Products, Eshelman School of Pharmacy, University of North Carolina Chapel Hill. Dr. Sharma’s research has encompassed the disciplines of enzymology, computational chemistry, molecular biology, fluorescent bio-sensor design and diagnostics. His primary research emphasis is in application of Medicinal Chemistry to the design of novel low-cost diagnostic platforms to meet the health monitoring needs of millions of people residing in parts of the world where medical infrastructure is inadequate, underdeveloped or absent.
