Biography

Dr. Kai Wang completed his undergraduate training in Taiwan before moving to the US to study for his PhD at Oregon State University. Following an academic position at the University of Washington in Seattle, Dr. Wang moved to industry in 1995 and in 2001 cofounded Phenogenomics Corporation. In 2008, he took a senior research scientist position at the Institute for Systems Biology in Seattle Washington where he currently conducts research into the application and biological function of microRNAs. He has authored or coauthored over 50 scientific papers and holds 4 US patents. He served as a reviewer of peerreviewed journals in the area of microRNA application genomics and biomarker discovery. Besides his over 20 years of experience as a molecular biologist in academia and industry, Dr. Wang is also a diplomate of the American Board of Toxicology.

Research Interest

His primary interest is using systems biology to study the biological function and application of microRNAs.
