Biography

Prof. Werner H. Schmidt has received his PhD 1976 and his habilitation 1989 in the University of Greifswald, Germany. Currently he is working as an Emeritus Professor of mathematics (Numerical Analysis) in Greifswald. He cooperated with the universities in Minsk, Prague, Riga, Szczecin, Tartu, Tuscaloosa, Vilnius and Zielona Gora. He completed his administrative responsibilities as Vice-Director of the Institut. He is serving an editorial member of the journal Discussiones mathematicae-Differential Inclusions, Control and Optimization. He is a reviewer of Zentralblatt. He has authered more than 110 articles and some books. W. Schmidt is a member of the DMV (German Mathematicak Society).
