Biography

Wilbert S. Aronow, MD is Professor of Medicine at Westchester Medical Center/New York Medical College. Dr. Aronow has edited 11 books and is an author or coauthor of 1, 319 papers, 211 commentaries or Letters to the Editor, and 921 abstracts. He was Co-Chair of the American College of Cardiology Foundation/American Heart Association 2011 expert consensus document on hypertension in the elderly and is currently a member of the writing group for the American Heart Association scientific statement on treatment of hypertension in the prevention and management of ischemic heart disease. He is currently a member of the Board of Directors of the American Society of Preventive Cardiology and a member of the American College of Chest Physicians Cardiovascular Disease, Hypertension, and Cardiovascular Surgery Network Steering Committee. He has been a member of 85 editorial boards of medical journals, coeditor of 2 journals, deputy editor of 1 journal, executive editor of 3 journals, an associate editor for 9 journals, and a guest editor for 6 other journals. He has received numerous awards for teaching and for research and has ben a consultant to numerous government agencies and a member of committees in numerous professional societies.
