Dr. Ambroise Wonkam is senior lecturer/senior specialist in the Division of Human Genetics, Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Cape Town, South Africa. After a MBChB/MD from the Faculty of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, University of Yaounde I (Cameroon), Dr. Wonkam complete a thesis in Cell Biology in the department of Morphology, University of Geneva (Switzerland) following by a specialization in medical geneticist. His interests are reflected in his peer-reviewed publications, which are in laboratory, clinical and educational aspects of medical genetics. His major ongoing research project is on phenotypic correlation of sickle cell anemia to genotypic variations. His has recently established the medical genetics practice in Cameroon. Dr. Wonkam is board member of the African Society of Human Genetics and member of the Scientific Program Committee of the 2011 International Conference of Human Genetics.
