Biography

Yang Xu received the BSc. degrees in applied mathematics, and PhD. degree in transportation management engineering from Southwest Jiaotong University, P.R. China, in 1982 and 1996, respectively. He has been a Full Professor in Mathematics in the School of Mathematics, Southwest Jiaotong University, P.R. China since 1991. He is a Mid-Youth Expert of Outstanding Contribution of P.R. China. He is the director of Intelligent Control Development Centre since 1995 and the chairman of Department of Applied Mathematics (from 1996 to 2001) at Southwest Jiaotong University. He has authored or co-authored over 600 publications in peer-reviewed international journals, book chapters and international conferences as well as 9 books on his research topics during his career to date. He has been the Director or a Main Researcher on over 35 projects of academic research and applications.
