Yo-ichiro Sato is a Professor at KSU-Future center of Kyoto Sangyo University (KSU) since October, 2013. He was the deputy director-general and professor, and now Professor emeritus of the Research Institute for Humanity and Nature (RIHN). He received Dr. in Agronomy at Kyoto University (1986). He was Research Associate at National Institute of Genetics (1983-1994) and Assistant Professor at Shizuoka University (1994-2003), and Professor of RIHN (2003-2013). His major field of interest is plant genetics, particularly genetics of rice, as well as plant genetic resources. He was an advocate of ‘DNA archaeology’ which is an integrated research methodology of DNA analysis for archaeological remains excavated
