Yoshihiro Ishikawa serves as a Professor and as the Chair of the Cardiovascular Research Institute of Yokohama City University, Yokohama, Japan. He also works as a Professor of cardiology and molecular medicine at New Jersey Medical School of the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, USA. He attended both Yokohama City University and Yale University and received the M.D. and Ph.D. degrees from Yokohama City University in 1984 and 1990. After clinical training in cardiology, he served as an Assistant Professor of medicine and pharmacology at Columbia University, as an Assistant Professor at Harvard Medical School, then as an Associate Professor at Allegheny University. He is a Fellow of American College of Cardiology, Fellow of American College of Physician, Fellow of American Heart Association, Fellow of Japanese Society of Internal Medicine, and Fellow of Japanese College of Cardiology. Besides his academic research, he has been practicing in both Japan and USA to take care of patients with cardiovascular diseases. In addition, he acted as Consultant to a major USA pharmaceutical company. He has over 190 publications in the fields of cardiology, cardiovascular research, biochemistry, molecular biology, and health research. He frequently attends and gives a talk at national and international conferences in Japan and USA.
