Dr. Young Pyo Jang was born in Busan, Republic of Korea in 1969. He obtained his B.S., M.D., and Ph.D. in Pharmacy from Seoul National Univeristy. He performed Postdoctoral Research Fellowship under supervision of Prof. Koji Nakanishi at Department of Chemistry, Columbia University, NY, USA in 2002. After being a research scientist in Prof. Janet Sparrow’s lab at the Department of Ophthalmology, Columbia University, he moved to Kyung Hee University with a position of Assistant Professor at College of Pharmacy in 2007. He became associate professor at the same department in 2011. He served as Secretary of Korean Society of Pharmacognosy in 2011 and served as Chairman of Department of Oriental Pharmaceutical Science, College of Pharmacy, Kyung Hee University from 2013~2014. His research interest includes; Plant metabolomics for quality control and marker identification, Real time identification of raw herbal drugs using DART-TOF-MS fingerprinting, Biodiversity-inspired bioprospecting.
